Logo Redesign

Before

The previous design was intricate and ornate, making it difficult to adapt for marketing materials and maintain visual clarity across various platforms. With its complexity, it struggled to convey the brand’s message effectively in smaller formats or on digital assets. Furthermore, following the growing distinction between Indiana University and Purdue University in Indianapolis, the organization needed a fresh, independent identity. A new logo was essential to ensure it stood apart from both institutions, reflecting its own unique mission and vision while establishing a strong, recognizable presence in the community.

After

For the updated design, my goal was to create a more modern and timeless aesthetic, ensuring the logo would remain relevant and impactful for years to come. I decided to highlight the nickname "MoCo," which the dancers affectionately use for the Moving Company, as the central focus of the design. This not only reflects the essence of the group but also adds a personal touch. Additionally, I aimed to incorporate a clearer and more recognizable representation of a dancer, making it easier for those unfamiliar with the organization to instantly identify its purpose and mission.
